Far East Cynic

Devoid of human kindness and happiness.

I’ll have several posts up this week commenting on the election and its implications. Celebrating this weekend was awesome – I can’t tell you how much of a weight has been lifted by knowing that the Orange Monster lost the election.

(Despite his protestations, this is not 2000, and Trump has clearly lost.) Almost 158 million people voted, and Biden won the majority of the popular vote by over 4 million. Like Trump, he won the Electoral College by 306 votes. Given how polarized the country is, for Biden to win almost 51% of the popular vote, with a margin of more than 4 million votes and climbing, it is a feat.

However, it is remarkable how inconsistent the response of the GOP and the Trump Humpers has been. I mean, after all, if they believe someone like Nancy Mace won by only 6000 votes – it seems odd they won’t accept Biden winning a state by over 40,000.

Trump, of course, is behaving like the spoiled child he has been his entire miserable life. There is a personal and a business reason or his refusal to accept the facts. First, the business reason:

He desperately needs the money he will raise for his “campaign.”

This is especially true when you consider the New York Times stories about Trump’s taxes and shady finances.

But the second reason is just this is who Trump is.

Donald J. Trump lacks any shred of decency or humanity. In an epic Twitter thread yesterday, John Cole explained why:

Donald Trump is truly a lost soul.

A lost soul has had a tragedy, so devastating, they find it impossible to give their heart to anyone. This sorrow has betrayed their devotion to trust and they have withdrawn. A lost soul may act certain of themselves, and their world, but you will find they ramble with their words, and in turn, are heading nowhere. Lost souls can be dangerous to themselves and others, and can cause harmful memories of not careful. A lost soul may create many distractions and will make many excuses.

It is who he is.

  1. I was elated when Biden won, but almost immediately I started worrying about all the possibilities for fuckery Trumpito and his cabal could come up with. I’m ready to call my therapist because my worst fears are coming true. Jesus wept! xo
