Pogrom– a violent, targeted riot incited with the aim of massacring, expelling, or terrorizing an ethnic or religious group, most historically associated with attacks against Jews. The word itself originates from the Russian word pogrom, meaning “to devastate” or “to wreak havoc”.
What those worthless fuckers from ICE are doing is exactly that, and they deserve every bit of hatred and scorn that can be laid upon them. ICE is the modern-day equivalent of the Cossacks from Czarist Russia.
Paul Krugman has laid out in stark terms in a recent Substack post how evil these thugs are and the damage that they are doing to the country as a whole. It’s a great indictment of Stephen Miller, the 21st-century version of Eichmann (and who deserves the same fate as his Nazi namesake) – and the insanity of the policies targeting immigrants.
And let’s repeat, as Professor Snyder has done, our evil policies on immigration are just one aspect of this wretched nation committing “superpower suicide“. We need more taxpayers, especially given all the conservative whining about the birthrate in America. ( Which translates into whining about the white birthrate, nothing else.)

The goal has been to compel immigrants to leave the country, and, in the long run, to eliminate incentives that draw many people to the United States in the first place.

has asked White House officials to work with federal agencies to make sure they are using regulations against immigrants throughout the areas of American life they oversee
So Federal policy at all levels, including policy tools that were never intended to be used for immigration enforcement, are being weaponized against anyone born outside the US — and some people born here, including American-born children. These days, I am rarely shocked by Trump administration actions, but this is truly shocking:
Federal officials are planning regulatory changes to prevent American-born children from receiving federal day care subsidies if at least one parent is not a citizen.
It’s nothing short of a betrayal of American ideals and a milestone on the road to fascism for this country.
It has to be stopped – and the people who authored these policies made to suffer for their beliefs. Starting with Miller.
