Far East Cynic

A bright spot in an otherwise miserable year.

I have just returned from the sacred pilgrimage to the “Holy City” and my Alma Mater. The weekend was awesome and I also spent some time in the “Burgh” before heading south. Got to see my son. Unfortunately, this worthless SOB seemed to be following me around. On Wednesday the 23rd, his Orange Rotundness came to Pittsburgh. Fortunately, I was on my way south before Air Force ONE and its obese passenger cracked the tarmac.

I thought I had escaped him, but then, on Friday, the turd shows up in South Carolina. Arrgh! Fortunately for me, he stayed up in Columbia.

But my week closed out on a high note when I got to watch this, at a watering hole in the old part of the Holy City.:

I think even better was these great guys behind home who represented a lot of us who love the Constitution, but hate the guy trying to destroy it.

Stories of my trip and pix to come later this week.

“Respect for the office” is a self-governing citizen’s sin of idolatry. In that context, the Presidency is a graven image. Why should I respect the office of the president when the occupant so clearly doesn’t? Why should I respect the office of the president when it serves as a clubhouse for cheap crooks and mountebanks? ……… we’re all supposed to be alarmed that a renegade president* got heckled at a baseball game? For a country founded through acts of unruly dissent, that’s as mild as milk.
