Far East Cynic

Worth repeating..

Something I have long suspected:

It's very simple why women don't like her as much as men. Women saw through Sarah Palin and we saw through her quickly. Men are literal and are more likely to say what they mean  and mean what they say. Women are more nuanced and better able to persuade and manipulate others with their words. So it's quite natural for us to be able to look below the surface of another woman's words and grasp the intentions behind them.

Sarah Palin is the peppy cheerleader in high school all the boys thought was so sweet but the girls knew was really a vicious shrew. She's the new girl in the office who wears tight shirts and three-inch heels, is super-friendly to her male superiors, ignores the other women, and gets promoted sooner than her more capable and hard working peers. She's the outgoing PTA mom all of the other women are scared to cross because they will find themselves put on the worst committees. Only a woman knows how to give another woman a sweet smile and at the same time cut her down to size with an artfully crafted "compliment" without male observers having a clue about what just happened. It's like a dog whistle.

After her convention speech that so many pundits raved about, I talked to a few of my Republican girlfriends and they all disliked her immediately, telling me things like, "she's mean", "who does she think she is putting Obama down like that" and "I just don't like her". And these were women who, all except one, ended up voting for McCain anyway, although much less enthusiastically than they would have before his VP pick. The one who switched her vote to Obama did so solely because of Sarah Palin. It wasn't really the attack lines the McCain camp gave her to deliver that had turned my friends off. It was the relish with which she delivered them.

The Republican women I know who love Palin are a great deal like her–simplistic thinkers who are always feeling victimized themselves. I have a feeling that if the McCain camp had spent more than a weekend checking Palin out, a woman on his staff (my money would be on Nicole Wallace) would have figured out what kind of person she was and none of us would know her name right now.

True, true, true.

  1. Hello. I was reading someone elses blog and saw you on their blogroll. Would you be interested in exchanging blog roll links? If so, feel free to email me.

    Thanks.

  2.
OK skippy, am I "persona non grata". I keep trying to post comments and they do not link up.

  3. Here’s a question. Why is deranged to criticize a Republican when they behave stupidly-but not deranged to criticize a Democrat for the same thing? Sarah Palin has behaved stupidly-especially in resigning from her office-and makes outrageous statements that can be proven wrong. That’s not deranged-its a responsibility.

  4. My deranged comment failed to make it over the transom either. I pointed out that fags always make the best judges of women and agreed with our host.

Her book was fact checked by 11 losers from the AP who found 4 possibly erroneous misstatements….

Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Sibellius, shit most of the communists who make up the cabinet resigned from office but that’s not a crime and doesn’t demonstrably make them stupid….an ongoing criminal conspiracy, well, most of them, yes.

  5. Actually it was a lot more- I’ll be happy to provide the reference.

And there are 31 documented lies since last September on the campaign trail and subsequent.

Plus if anything her book reveals interesting insights into her character-mainly how vain she is and how she cannot deal with criticism. At all.

She deserves all of the scorn she gets.

  6. Hey Skippy,

    Have fun, enjoy the trip.

When you want to get serious about crap like Palin’s book, one of us should be guilty of at least reading the damned thing. I don’t need to hear another PDS person complaining about the things said in the book that has not read the book. After all, most of the PDS volk condemned it as a total pack of lies and fabrication and many of them even went so far as to admit that they had not read it. I’ll never read it but I don’t pay any attention to the losers at the NYT and elsewhere who started writing condemnations about the book even before it was released.

Those campaign trail lies…were they straight from Palin’s rouged lips or was this just crap that “spokesman” claimed on her behalf? Let us not forget that Al Gore invented the internet and that the Won will stop the ocean rising and prevent global warming.

I think the vanity dunce cap title belongs to democrats in perpetuity. They have staked claims on a galactic scale.

Seriously, when you write about her “book revelations”, you should fact check your sources or go to the primary material; the book itself. You would buy and read her book shortly after you chopped off your wossname and announced that all along you were a benny boy. You don’t build credibility for you anti-Palinism by claiming the NYT or Maureen Dowd or any of the liberal columnists as original source material with no axe to grind who did your “reading” for you. If you’re too cheap to buy the book, you can probably find it in the fiction section of your local library.

  7. Hence my suggestion that you browse the fiction section of your local library or the one at Redstone.
