How many times has this happened to you? You rent a car on a business trip, loan it to a co-worker who subsequently loans it to a stripper. The stripper is pulled over and the car impounded. Your co-worker then rents the exact same type of car and passes it off as the original, which you then return to the rental agency.
It has happened to at least one person………..
A few years back a group of us were in STL with 1 car from Avis.
I did not feel like going out one night so I let a co-worker take the car.2 days later I go to return the car and am told that the car Im returning is not the car I rented.
Turns out my co-workers went to a strip club and let a dancer borrow it to score some drugs, she got busted and the police impounded the vehicle.
The co-workers caught a cab back to the hotel and went to Avis at 6am to rent an identical car, They picked me up at 7:00am and I kept the car while they worked it out with Avis and the police. I had no idea I was in a different car for 2 days.
In the end it was resolved.
