I have not been able to post for the last two months for many reasons. It’s been a hard couple of months. Between making a pilgrimage back to the sacred soil of my Alma Mater and then on to Shopping Mall – which, thanks to both of them being unmasked hell holes – gave me… Continue reading The nameless servants of evil (Part One)

The prodigal son returns
I’m back in shopping mall this week for a variety of reasons. Had some medical stuff done, did some stuff related to the S.O. Permanent Residence Card, and checked on my house. I also got to sit through rounds of American political commercials as the clock ticks down to the Alabama primary on March 1st.… Continue reading The prodigal son returns
Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.
Greetings from the lounge in Chicago. Sitting here waiting for the jump back across the Atlantic. Should have posted more-but just didn’t feel like it. This week was my birthday-so it put in kind of a funk. I still am in a funk-or at the least a bit depressed. This week had me doing a… Continue reading Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.
Seems like I never left.
After a long plane ride-made longer by the fact the plane left Frankfurt two and one half hours late- I am back with the S.O. in the hellhole metropolis of Shopping Mall USA. This was not a trip by choice-thanks to Alabama's ridiculous immigration laws, they would not let the S.O. renew needed paper work… Continue reading Seems like I never left.
While the lights were out…..
The lights are back on at Chez Skippy-but not on elsewhere in the greater Metropolis of Shopping Mall. Thank goodness! For us it was kind of a blessing-we were given an excuse to clean out the refrigerator-but it also made me the proud new owner of a generator I was not planning on buying. I… Continue reading While the lights were out…..
Only in Alabama…….
Shooting? What shooting? Judging from the front page of the Shopping Mall USA fishwrapper, there was no shooting yesterday. That story was tucked down at the bottom of the front page in the lower right hand corner-with just two paragraphs. It was a very small block. Why? BECAUSE AUBURN PLAYS OREGON TOMORROW FOR THE DAMN… Continue reading Only in Alabama…….
The only place you need a prescription
Shopping Mall remains firmly rooted in the 19th century: I wrote about Sherri Williams v. Alabama in 2005 (“Do You Have an Rx for That Vibrator?“), describing the battle Sherri fought to keep her Pleasures stores open after Alabama banned sex toy retail “for immoral purposes” from the state. I wrote about the case again in… Continue reading The only place you need a prescription
That ought to shut these people up……
Mornings like this are meant to be savored. Clear blue sky outside?-check. Fresh coffee ready?-check. S.O. still asleep and its quiet in the house?-check. Shopping Mall Times whining about Alabama losing?-check. It’s a great day in the neighborhood. ( And I don’t even like South Carolina that much-but any port in a storm I guess).
Winding up
Well the day I have been looking forward to-is getting closer. With luck I will be back across the Atlantic ocean this weekend. Romania has been nice-but ten weeks is about six weeks two much. I’ve seen the city pretty much through and through, driven around southern Romania and up into the mountains. I am… Continue reading Winding up
Cover me……
I'm going in. Yea though I walk through the valley of Microsoft-I will not fear Windows 7. If I screw up this install though, it might be a while before I can surface my head here again. Kind of feel like the Tennessee kicker today-right before he kicked what could have been the winning field… Continue reading Cover me……
