Far East Cynic

They do not even know the right questions to ask.

Life is tough. It’s even tougher when one is stupid and just blindly supports evil.

I had the misfortune of reading a worthless piece of shit defending our unnecessary attack on Iran by stating: “He threatened to kill “an entire civilization because they pledged to kill ours and claim a “right” to enrich U-235 far beyond levels needed for energy production. “

He’s incredibly stupid and worthless. Here is why:

1) Like it or not, Iran is a sovereign nation, you stupid piece of shit. Where does the US get the “right” to tell another nation what they can or cannot do inside their national borders? And I would remind you, you worthless idiot, that we are “allowing” plenty of other nations to have nuclear weapons. ( e.g., North Korea). They have the “right” even if we don’t like it. Preventive war is not something the US should be doing.

2) Tactical success does not equal strategic victory. Do we even know what “victory” is in this stupid endeavor? More than half of Iran’s missile launchers have been destroyed or damaged, and its missile stockpile has been halved—is that enough, or must the missile threat from Iran be removed completely for this goal to be met? Regime change looks unlikely, and if anything, the war has left hard-liners even more entrenched. Can the United States truly win with a more conservative regime in place?

3. What is the U.S. and Israeli escalation ceiling? If attacks on Iran resume, will it be more of the same, or will the United States broaden both its target set and types of forces used? And what will we do when the consequences of those escalations blow up in our face?

4. Why are we letting Israel dictate American policy? American and Israeli interests are NOT the same. The two allies are not in lockstep. When the United States declared a cease-fire with Iran, Israel was informed, not consulted. Israel, for its part, continued its strikes on Lebanon for several days, even though it risked disrupting the cease-fire. Domestically, Israelis are disappointed by the cease-fire in Lebanon and with Iran, while Americans welcomed it. It is plausible, or even likely, that the United States may agree to terms with Iran that Israel opposes.

5. Most Americans ( myself included) oppose the war. They, unlike the author of the aforementioned stupid comments, recognize how unnecessary this action was, how dangerous it is in the long term, and how injurious it is to the world economy and international community. The damage Iran has inflicted on Israel and the United States is a fraction of the devastation that Iran has suffered. Yet both countries have had their losses, and their staying power is questionable.

The person who authored this shitty defense of Trump’s indefensible actions ( who I will not engage with because it’s a pointless endeavor and he is just a useless person anyway) is emblematic of the stupidity present in a certain percentage of our population. Adding insult to injury, the United States did not consult its allies before going to war or otherwise try to build a coalition. Nor did the President seek Congressional Authorization in specific violation of the Constitution.

Finally, while we are attacking Iran, our real adversaries are gaining an advantage. Just like in the disaster that was Iraq- the Chinese got a free pass by not playing. They accelerated ahead of us- and now, with an unstable idiot in the White House – they know that the US is making a mistake.

There is no defense for this stupid war. Jerks like this person who tries to defend it deserve the very worst that can befall them.
