For the learning impaired in the back:
1) The US and Israel are the bad guys here. This is not self-defense; this is unwarranted aggression. It is a war of choice, a discretionary war. An unnecessary war started by a deranged idiot at Netanyahu’s bidding to keep Netanyahu in power.
2) Regime change is not an accepted reason for going to war. Otherwise, the rest of the world should have declared war on us a year ago.
3) Destroying the regime’s capabilities is relatively easy, but nothing permanent—as Americans learned in Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan—is achieved by bouncing rubble and piling up bodies. Destroying the regime itself is a far trickier business; dictatorships have a high pain tolerance, especially when the hapless citizens, not the leaders, bear the brunt of that pain.
4) Beyond air attacks, if troops are put on the ground, Americans will die. And for what? Even if you achieve regime change, there is no guarantee that the government that replaces the Ayatollahs will be Western-friendly. It is a pointless waste of American lives and capital.
5) Trump, who has not consulted Congress, has done little to explain the war to the American public and has made no effort to build a coalition of allies, does not have that luxury.
6) Gas prices will rise, and this will make YOUR dollars less valuable, as we spend money on this that we do not have.
7) President Shitgibbon has not offered a strategy or identified any conditions that would signal that U.S. goals have been achieved. I thought Iran’s nuclear capability was completely obliterated last year?
We are still going to be talking about Trump raping children, war or no war.
