Far East Cynic

What the Chinese professor really said…….

A little humor before I get really stinking drunk tomorrow evening. But not before I go to the polls and vote against every “real conservative’, “church going”, “pro-life, pro gun”, “down home” Alabama candidate. If I have to hear about how long Mo Brooks has been married to his wife and how Bentley is not going to take a salary-I’m going to go mad.

  1. A little too impressed with our last few hundred years of democratic government are we? Might be time to look at the economic/religous environment under which the basis for our nation was formed and then compare our history to other nations and with a weather eye to future changes. Great video, illustrative.

  2. There is a background here that makes this video the great satire it is. An outside group released an add with a Chinese professor on the stage talking to the kids in audience. ( Who were all recruited at a casting call in America). The ad is an attack on the administration, calling out all the old canards about socialism etc-and it provides a subtle dose of xenophobia. Its done by an outfit in Taiwan that is mocking Christine O’Donnel and Sarah Palin. Which is something that’s always great to see.

  3. “mocking Christine O’Donnel and Sarah Palin. Which is something that’s always great to see.”

Skippy, I get that it’s your blog and you can have your opinions as you will, but tell me something. You get on Fox News as being in the tank for the GOP, but at least they have been known to show opposing viewpoints on some of their own (i.e. Karl Rove and his not liking of O’Donnel).

But if you think Palin and O’Donnel are underqualified, then let me ask, what makes Al Franken qualified to be a sitting Senator? Just because he wrote jokes for a TV show back in the 70’s and probably had lunches at Elaine’s in NYC.

They have probably have about the same knowledge level as he does. And though I am not a big fan of Palin, at least she did run a state. And since she was elected, you mean to tell me that half of the 600,000 people in Alaska are all idots (according to your beliefs if anyone votes for her).

  4. As for Franken-you clearly have never read his books. He’s pretty well read on a host of issues, and is by all accounts is a good Senator for his state. And he’s older than O’Donnell-and has held a job.

Palin quit her job of running a state. A state that is the easiest in the country to run. A state that is awash with federal cash.

Only about 50% of the people voted this election-and about 20% side with me. That’s about the righ percentage of smart people in the country-the other 80% are on various percentiles dropping down to moronic.

Seriously-its not that people are stupid, it is that they are misinformed. Jon Stewart is right about that-and that the media as a whole, not just Fox has abidcated its role to call BS on falsehoods. If the media had done its job and sorted relevant stories from irrelevant the Teabaggers would not have gotten near the media coverage they have.

But at the end of the day-we get the government we deserve. Because most Americans are stupid.

Or I could just call Sarah Palin a whore. Equally accurate.

  5. He wrote them. They are his style to the core.

What is it about Franken that bothers so many people? His political positions have hardly been as radical as O’Donnell’s.

One other point about Fox-they only go through the motions of showing other opinions. Because they never have true experts on their panels. Their Sunday panel for example-usually is built around William the Bloody who is nothing but an egotistical fool.
