Not looking good for the home team

I’ve just gotten off the phone with United Airlines for the 3rd time today. My attempts to get contact with someone who actually gave a shit have so far been in vain. Near as I can tell:

No one at Dulles actually ever checks or answers mail.

My bag and the two 375 dollar suits in it are never coming home.

It is going to take over 70 days to get a fucking dollar that I am owed by UAL.

This is a shitty way to treat a 1K member if you ask me. Any suggestions on how to get them to respond?

(Baggage Tracing/Claim Form) You have filled one of these out?

UAL headquarters is at 77 W. Wacker Drive (312) 997-8000

Start with phone calls to these upper management, be nice but firm. Ask for them by name.

    Joanne D. Calabrese

Calabrese also drives standardization of all processes at the hubs to most efficiently serve United’s customers.

    Scott J. Dolan
Senior Vice President – Airport Operations and Cargo

Scott Dolan is United’s senior vice president-Airport Operations and Cargo. He is based at the company’s operations center in suburban Chicago.

  2. I would suggest leaving UAL. They have apparently abandoned you. But not sure any are much better.

I avoid UAL if at all possible. Have been know to forego a trip if had to use UAL. Got that way when realized I had never had a flight leave at close to scheduled time and requires a several hour layover if had any hope of making a connection. Then read UAL had the highest oversold rating of any domestic carrier. In fact read UAL had competition in the sales group as to who could oversell the most seats with the least cost to the airline.

My advice: buy a plane a fly yourself. And avoid UAL.

  3. Go to the airport, bring coffee and donuts, find out where the baggage guys (not management, not customer service) for United hang out, ask them to find your bag.
