The S.O. and I were both shaking out heads at the Olympic TV coverage this past week. Besides their unbelievable fawning at all things Chinese and the failure of NBC to provide an even picture of the Chinese dictatorship country, they also ignored a lot of great sports activity that made America proud.
Like the men’s and women’s eight’s in Rowing.
The eight’s are a symbol of what can be great in the Olympics. Its a sport about teamwork, not indivduals, it has grace and beauty, and it requires strength and training.
Yet NBC overlooked it. To cover what again?
Diving.
Like the S.O. kept saying she was sick of seeing diving over and over again. Me too.
So most of you who watched NBC last night, myself included, missed this great moment:
USA WOMEN WON THE GOLD IN THE EIGHTS! They beat Romania and Netherlands by a boat length.
