A good summary of the current predicament.

It’s been some week, hasn’t it? What with omicron showing up in the US, Japan banning all travel for foreigners – something I happen to agree with – the Supreme Court poised to strike down Roe v Wade and lest we forget, another senseless school shooting, it’s been a depressing week all around.

A guy named Peter Manseau summed things up well:

He’s pretty on the mark this week.

For example, he commented aptly on the school shootings as well:

And this one:

Recent events have also convinced me that he is pretty on the mark with this thread – and I encourage you to read the entire thing:

A Balloon-Juice poster summed things ups well:

We choose to live this way. We choose to subject our children to this madness. Not all of us, of course. But enough of us think this is okay, so we all have to live this way, with active shooter drills and real-life tests of them a routine part of American life. It’s shameful.

And John Cole also summed up the future that lies ahead of us:

The next few decades are going to be chaotic information wars with increasing civil strife, and they’re primed and prepped their shock troops, eroded all gun laws, stacked the judiciary, and amped their goons up to think that Nancy Pelosi is public enemy number one. Their decades-long war against the media has worked and their side only listens to that which is spoon-fed to them. It’s all coming together.
