But I have been busy. And what free time I have had, I have been indulging in finishing (re-reading really) Andrew Baecevich’s book. The guy is a genius-and he has accurately captured how we got to the state of war without end, and what we need to do to get out of it. (Not that he , or I, expect that we will). His take down of “King David” Petreaus is especially pointed and on the mark. Baecevich reminds us that before Petraeus was the solution he was part of the problem.
I thought going back to read that book was particularly timely-in view of my visit to Bahrain and Ft Apache.
A more detailed review and regular posting will resume this weekend.
Is that Washington Rules?
Yes. A great book.
I find the recent push to give Petraeus a fifth star disturbing.
Cool, thanks. I will add it to my list for the year.
