Of voting tomorrow…………..
On so many blogs, the predictions are of doom and gloom, of jack booted socialists taking money they did not earn, guns they did not purchase, and how taxes will rise and rise and rise. There is real and unwarranted fear of some sort of beginning of the end. I do not accept this level of paranoia regarding a victory by the side with the “D” on it. If he wins, and it is still an if in my humble opinion (I predict a 280-259 Electoral college vote either way), its not going to be the end of the world as we know it. There will be no rise of a monolithic media-that never existed anyway-and freedom of the press, freedom of speech and freedom of religion will go on as before. And if, on the whole we raise the standard of living of the country as a whole-even if it means the filthy rich do to get to live so filthily- the nation will emerge better off. Its not Marxism or socialism to want to improve the country and put folks on the road to opportunity. How do I know that? A former President told me so. So as you go to vote tomorrow-take some time to remember his words:
