This is going to be the new “house” for my blog. For reasons I’m not too sure of, I have obtained a host and am working on getting a bigger and better version of the Far East Cynic blog up. ( Maybe then my readership numbers will increase-its either that or resort to porn!). For the time being the “real” blog will be over at the old homestead, but all posts here will be cross posted over at this location. Word Press is proving more complex than I thought it would be. I have a place holder template in residence while I tinker. Probably by November I’ll have the “real” site moved over there.
In the meantime, feel free to laugh at me and the work in progress- or better yet offer helpful suggestions.
And please keep coming back here. For my commentary. AND

Nice! — welcome to WordPress 🙂 Think you’ll find it much more flexible than blogspot was for format, functionality, etc. Bit of a learning curve involved at first but there’s tons of plugins and widgets to help along the way. I’ll see if I can bundle up the moost useful ones I use and send you a zip file…

Plugins–
If you have them loaded to the correct directory, you should be able to see them from the admin panel. The directory is:
(whatever your root directory, example): fareastcynic/wp-content/plugins
Many times you need to load the entire plug in directory, sometimes it is just one .php file. There is a great plugin called one click which allows you to upload and install any plugin or theme with one click (instead of downloading, unziping, uploading, etc).
