Far East Cynic

The brave new world.

Can we finally do away with DACOWITS now?

Since everyone can do everything-why are they needed? Except of course, its not about equality at all.

Its about reshaping the service into an image it never should have.

But such is the way society is changing.

I consider myself pretty open minded-but on the issue of women serving in combat, in squadrons, on ships, in submarines,  in the military in general, I shall never change my mind.  These changes come at a cost to American society-and they in the end,  demean women. It is not about doing what’s right-its about careerism, and wanting to slant the table so that the tables of 10,000 years get turned 180 degrees around.

Secretary Panetta, Professor Van Creveld would like to have a word with you:

This, so you can understand the implications of what you did today.

And for the hypocrites in the Navy who whine and cry about all the guys getting fired for “morals” violations-just wait. The world you supposedly wished for has come true.

And no Mr. Ruiz, I do not apologize for writing this post about this time last year. I was right then-and I am right now. I will go on believing what I believe as long as I live.

This-This is the world you have created. Enjoy it.

There is no free ride and no matter what the benefit-we pay a cost as a society as the role of women as the civilizers of American society is destroyed.

All I can say is that I am glad I got to serve with men, when it was a man’s thing to do.

  1. Skippy,
Next thing they need to do is change the requirement for 18 yr old males registering for the Selective Service.  I remember going down to the post office to register for the draft, just so that I could be eligible for Federal Financial aid for college.  But women don't need to do so.  Now I suppose that they will also be required to do so.  But, this is a typical government move that probably wasn't well thought out.  Case in point, NY just passed tougher gun laws and the world applauded.  However, in their rush to be "first" and for Cumo to get out in the lead for 2016, the very law that outlaws high capacity gun magazines also means that the police departments are in violation of the very same law.  They are going to have to go back and revise the law to make it legal for law enforcement to have the high capacity gun mags.  If I were a crook and had been arrested, I would have used that as my defense and gotten off.
Not trying to make it a gun rant, but this new policy is just like the NY gun policy.  Going too fast to make a point and not looking at the big picture.  I want to see them come out in the open and say women will also need to start to register for the draft.  But so far I have not seen anything for that, so I guess the next step will be to just scrap the Selective Service requirement for all.

  2. Can you imagine how bad it's going to get on a submarine, when their 90 day patrol is turned into 180 days out, due to world events. Cold showers and Mr. hanky only go so far, when you have to slide by a young buxom blond with a nice ass in a tight uniform, in the confines of a submarine on a daily basis.
    – Petty officer how do you plead? Diminished capacity your honor, all the blood drained from my head; I lost my mind.

  3. @ Thor, your scenario doesn't take 180 days to occur.  Try having inport duty on a Saturday night, inport homeport during any weekend and you will get the same results.

  4. I saw an article that went on to say should they do awae with the Best Actor/Best Actress award and just make it a unisex, Best Performer award.  Since they have done away with the combat exclusion rule for women, then I think it should be fair that Hollwood should show that they are leading the way and do away with seperate awards and just make it one.  After all, that would be the "right thing" to do.
