Far East Cynic

Who lost China?

UPDATE! Greetings Legal Insurrection readers! Comments are closed on this post. If you wish to comment you have to go here and read this first.

William Jacobson is a worthless piece of shit. shrill.

In his latest post on his blog-which attracts such high quality readership as would read that other font of conservative wisdom, Andrew Breitbart, he has decided to blame the entire Middle East problem on Obama. In essence-he is re-running the "Who lost China?" argument-only this time he is saying we "lost" the middle east.

Like it was ever ours to lose. And to argue that Obama "lost" the Middle East without specifcally noting the role that multiple failed wars-all started by Obama's predecessor-played in destroying American influence in the region, is to completely ignore the root cause of any  such decline.  And also in setting the pre-conditions for the surge of groups like the Muslim Brotherhood.

Your boy Bush caused all this trouble-and now Obama is simply carrying on his flawed policies, you idiot. But never let the facts get in the way of a strawman argument.

Maybe you should listen to Juan Cole-who knows more about the region than you ever will-who has pointed out again that ignorance of what is really going on in the region is rampant-as is evidenced by this post and others you have written over the years.

If we are losing the Middle East-it is primarily because of policies that you support. Like starting stupid wars for worthless people.

What's probably the worst is that people actually read what you write and believe it. When's the last time you were actually there-idiot?

  1. "Your boy Bush caused all this trouble-and now Obama is simply carrying on his flawed policies, you idiot." Can you read and understand what you, yourself write, "you idiot"? "Obama is simply carrying on his flawed policies, you idiot." "Obama is simply carrying on" … who is forcing Obama to "simply carrying on his flawed policies"? "you idiot.?" What "a worthless piece of shit." … You're really "a worthless piece of shit.".

Skippy-san note: No I am not. The blame lies with Bush for getting the idea to go to war in the first place. We are now trying to extricate ourselves from the wars-but worthless men like Jacobsen are creating the foundations and parameters the President has to work from. Because to them any war is a good war.

Ah you know what,  to hell with it. Go fuck yourself!

  2. Dude, if you hate Professor Jacobsen, you'll hate me more.  .  Your arguments are all "Blame Bush".  Is that REALLY all you have?  We were winning in both Iraq and Afghanistan before the current #Occupier of the White House decided golf, parties, vacations and fundraising were more important than governing.  We were winning until it became more important to unseat a legally elected governor of a state.  We were winning before the "War on Women" (the absolute absurdity of that claim still astounds me).  We were winning before this President started giving away the farm to crony capitalists like GE, Solyndra and GM and giving away our security to the likes of China.

Bush's fault?  You WISH Obama had the leadership of Bush…or Ryan…or Palin…or Walker….or my big toe.  The current POTUS is an empty suit with not discernible history, no discernible record and no discernible ability to do anything other than "Community Organize" a bunch of thugs to  do his bidding.  He talks pretty when reading from a teleprompter.  Off-the-cuff, he makes Bush sound like a freakin' genius.  No better than a "C" student, I'd guess, but since his school records are sealed, we won't know that will we.

(Skippy-san note:If you think Bush Ryan, Palin or Walker find a better welcome than Mr. Jacobsen here-you need to read more of my back posts. Ryan in particular is deserving of scorn and derision-an evil man posing in a Brooks Brothers suit.)
I haven't had a belly laugh like this in a long time.  I'll have to come back again soon to see what idiocy you write next.

  3. Ah, the sycophants have arrived.

The wars a success? Not by any objective standard- and most certainly by the standard of whether they advanced American interests.

I spend considerable time in the Middle East and have done so for the last decade. Jacobsen is wrong, 100% wrong. I simply pointed it out . And unlike him, I don’t require commenters to register- thus I have to put with you and what passes for wisdom in the conservative community.

Let me be clear- the wars and the inability of the neocons to understand the realities of the Middle East created most of our problems over the last decade. Obama was wrong to follow Bush’s policies- but he is boxed in by the popular stupidity that passes for an electorate these days.

As evidenced by these previous two comments. Thank you for reminding me why I enjoy living overseas-I can no longer tolerate this level of political stupidity in America.
