Happy New Year!
Just got done watching a rather huge display of fireworks from our balcony. Seems everyone in ours and all the surrounding villages had fireworks to light off. It was really amazing-and unexpected.

Seems this is very much a European tradition. Saw it when we lived in Italy too.

No, still finishing up on the remodel in Houston. Deirdre is back in Germany at our house and called to tell me about all the fireworks going off in our village. I expect to be back in Germany in Feb, as long as I can get the contractors to show up on schedule here

Drove to here a few days ago, passed Heidelberg.
I-79 just slightly west of Pittsburg.
I had no idea you were of PA. I spent the war year there you know, back in the first grade on W. Baltimore St, Carlisle.
